Look at DPF differential pressures & reading 0.49kpa with engine not running. New DPF pressure sensor supplied & fitted, you guessed, no good. Pipes off pressure sensor & blown through & all clear, no good.. Starting to get a bit tedious now! Even tried regen via Snapon scantool incase the car doesnt speak Chinnese but same results. I've been told by a remapper that mapping out the EGR will goose the DPF - doing a bit of research, on many cars (though I can't find anything specific to Mondeo, but assume it's the same) the regen won't take place if the EGR is closed and with it mapped out, it will never take place and will eventually clog the DPF. If you drive only short distances or your journeys contain frequent stopping and starting, you must initiate the regeneration process every 500-800 kilometres (300-500 miles). I'm confident that the 'smoke' was actually unburnt fuel, instead. Smoking stopped when I reset the dpf learned values. So I believe that ECU changed its regen strategy as it thought the filter was 'new'. Worked like a charm! I have DPF Average regen miles, DPF Last regen miles and DPF Pressure difference setup in Torque. Average was 384 miles, just reached 375 miles about 100 feet from home and heard a regen kick in, engine note went deeper. Last regen miles went to 0.0 a couple of seconds later. If the vaporiser is toast or the pipework blocked you will get a light but it won't be regenerating. I suppose you could watch the fuel consumption.. Reply. HI folks new mondy owner here having picked up a mk4 2l tdci 60 plate last week. hes advising that this is the fault listed on his equipment and causing the dpf not to regen. now its my understanding that the mk4 mondeo doesnt use a seperate fluid for the DPF. can anyone clarify whether or not i will have a seperate tank p244d fault code.
