Its not a bug, it’s intentional. In settlements your horse can’t gallop. Out in the open your horse goes a lot faster, so it’s best to avoid crowded areas. I really can't imagine this is intentional. I'll be out exploring in a cave, and he'll run up some steps, and then when he gets to the top he'll slow to a crawl for 3 seconds then Andit would be so easy: Press button once - Walk, press button again - Walk faster, press button again - Run! Also you can chain parkour by holding X, I dont know I'd this was ok the last 2 games, but I'm really enjoying how, there seems to atleast be a very rudimentary form of actual parkour. I agree with the idea of making people pay more attention to the world around them but they nullify it with the amount of shit that Ubisoft please add an option to switch sprinting into a hold action. There are options to switch between a toggle and a hold action in Valhalla for crouching, aiming and bringing up the quick wheel. I would love to have an option for sprinting too.
